i like this idea, create “teams” of a sort, perhaps even bidders can make private proposals to other freelancers, liek a request to join, “do you want to join me on bidding for xxx)
I wonder though, the final selected price, would it be the highest bidder, or combinationof the 2, i just foresee this getting complicated, i suppose the Project Owner would offer a fixed rate, or a total price, and it be divided equally amongst the appointed contractors – though in another scenario there will ussually be a rate per contractor or for a service type-> for argument sake, a project support or secretarial, versus the likes of a mechanical engineer or projects facilitator. would the Project Owner need to specify recommended rates each, or wouldthere be a guideline, who would define these, just some of my initial random thoughts
i totally need this functionality, i am current working on some municipal contracts that are short-term and vary in spec considerably, and skills & capacity requirements can vary though the core team would stay teh same.
Perhaps bidders would bid against a particular skill or objective of project, and owner woudl select best price, locking a particular person to that skill/requirement (which is a custom field(s) linked to that project, with a max. no. resources, suggested price (dropdown per/hour or fixed amount) and the approved or confirmed resource/bidder if one chosen. if none chosen, that field or skill will still be “Biddable” against. and the Actual Project wont be complete, or closed to bids, until all slots are fill. another small idea, have the SKILLS and suggested price, to be global across all project giving the end user and project owner some indication of what should be paid/charged etc. give option to display this or not, they might have an entirely different rate in mind .
But yeah like i said i want this badly, and added to my todo list ^^. Lets discuss further & what are your thoughts on resource splitting/pricing per resource etc, would it be contract per bidder, or joint agreement – gotta cater for someone dropping or underperforming or the need to replace resources-> or divide payment come project end or periodically vs. hours billed. -> project itself will then specify hourly rate rather than total, but have a cap/maxium spend//budget
