Email notifications (not receiving mails)

Dear all,

I am not receiving any email notifications when someone post an ad on my website. The mechanism is, someone log on the website, post an ad, i receive a mail so that i can approve or decline. finally it is visible on my website. Right now no mail is being received. please help
